I spent the day today sewing. Robert and my dad and his brother have been gone all day scouting out places to go hunting next month so I took the opportunity to sew. I had found this material about a year ago at Hobby Lobby and fell in love with so I bought the ribbon they had that matched it then a few months ago I went back and they still had the fabric so I bought a couple of yards to make the girls outfits. So today was the day that I started and Finshed them. I getting the hang of this sewing thing. I am still trying to keep things simple but Breanna's shirt has 2 button on the back of it.

I took Breanna to her 2 year appt and she weighed in at 22 lbs and is 33". She is following her curve since birth and is just the runt of the family but perfectly healthy.

Megan's Dress

Lately I have been sewing. I am taking a quilting class and now I am starting to sew dresses and tops for the girls. I have found that it is relaxing even though I struggle on a few things here and there. I have sewed 2 other items. A dress for Breanna similar to Megan's and then an short outfit for Megan. I will post pictures later. Breanna's top was the first time I had sewed in a zipper it was a challenge at first but after watching a few You tube videos on sewing in a zipper i decided to tackle and not let the fear prevent me from finishing what I started. For only taking a class in Jr. High on sewing I have to say that I am pretty impressed with myself. I remember all the dresses and clothes that my mom made for Christie & I and I am amazed at how easy she made it look. In fact since my Mom saved so much I still have a few of those dresses so at some the girls will have something that their grandmother made.

We started the day with the following to be Accomplished: Frame in and mud the new opening, Put up the back splash and start flooring. Well 2 out of 3 is not bad. Thanks to Brian, Marcus and Gina for coming and Helping. And Thanks to my dad for making dinner for us tonight, it was nice not having to worry about it. We will hopeing get all the flooring finished tomorrow. Then we can spend the week building cabinets so that come next weekend we can set them and get the counter top and new sink and faucet installed. Then we should be back to normal.

Just about done at the end of Day 1.

We start demolition today open the kitchen. I am so excited. Robert's brother Jeremy and Brian along with Brock came over this morning and started taking cabinets and breaking up the tile floor. all that was completed by about 3:30 and we were just going over the floor to make sure we got all the staples up so we can lay the laminate wood floors tomorrow. I went to go get dinner and Breanna from daycare and when I came back there was a hole in the one side of the Kitchen were we had discussed taking the wall dawn at a later time. While I was gone the boys decided they need to see what was in the wall. The entire wall can't come down unless we want to do some serious rearranging of a vent pipe for the basement so we will just have an opening but it will still be open to the living room.

Tomorrow we are hoping to get the wood floor done and the opening framed and sheet rocked, and then the back splash up on the walls. Then throughout the rest of the week we can continue building the cabinets and getting them ready to install next weekend. WISH us LUCK!.

EIGHTEEN YEARS! It is hard to believe that it has been that long, but it has. I was almost 18 when my Mom passed away. After being in the hospital for a month she let go of the battle with AIDS. We only knew about it for such a short time but we knew that it was the best as we did not want to watch her to continue to suffer . We had already received about 12 years without knowing that the disease was there so we got to enjoy the time we had with each other without wondering “Is this the last time.”

To thinks that she has been gone as long as she was here for my life is a humbling thought. Sometimes it seems like yesterday that we were saying our goodbye’s in the ICU unit at Cottonwood Hospital and other days it seem like a life time. All the special moments she missed because she was taken from us too soon. She has always been in our hearts and as we celebrate those specials times like a wedding or a babies being born there is always the thought “I wish she was here”.

When Austin was about 3 he says to me one day “Mom I have freckles and they are kisses from heaven” I responded, “Yes, they are kisses from heaven from your grandma”. It was such a special moment that here was a little 3 year old being innocent to say something like that. I believe that each one of my kids was handed picked by my mom to be sent to us and that they know what a special lady she was.

I LOVE you Mom and not a day goes by that I am not reminded about you in some way or another, whether it is the way that someone compares me to you or just a memory of our time together good and bad. I miss you every day! I know you have been watching over us and guiding us throughout lives but at times I still wish you were here with us. I LOVE YOU!

Breanna had just finish drawing on the wall at the end of the hallway and I had told she was naughty and that we don't draw on walls only paper. The next thing I knew she had put herself in time out! She is such a funny little girl with sensitive feelings.

Grandkids quilts

This past year for Christmas gift to Robert's parents I had thought that a quilt with all the grandkids name would be a good gift, So I mentioned it to all of his brothers and sister and we decide to go ahead with the project. My sister in law Cherish was amazing and cut all the pieces for the star blocks out and sewed everything together and I had all the blocks embroidered with each grandkids name and each of the family groups are in a different color. We did 2 of these quilt this one here and another in brown tones for his dad. At the beginning of the year we had 14 grandkids and by the end of the year we had 17 grandkids. The quilt size is probable over a twin size. They both turned out beautifully and if we have any more grandkids on this side of the family we will add a throw pillow for them.

For the next year I am taking a quilting class with my friend Gina! It is at Floyd and Lizzies quilt shop on the 3rd Saturday of the month. This should give me some much need time out. Each month we will go and listen to tips and stuff about quilting and they then will provide us with the material needed to complete 1 quilt square. We had our first class on February 19 and I finished my block on Sunday. I am hoping that by the end of the year I will be able to have the quilt finished.

Kitchen Remodel...

This year with part of our tax return we are going to redo the kitchen. We are replacing the Cabinets, back splash and flooring. We have decide to put down a wood laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators, Counter tops from home depot and New cabinets from IKEA. we will start the demolition the week of March 9 so stay tune for picture of the progress and the final results. I am so excited that I can't wait. Hopefully everything will be completed by the weekend of the 18th.

Austin participate in the School Science Fair and WON! So this past Wednesday he was able to participate in the District Science Fair at Lincoln Elementary. It was a new experience for all of us. We had to go Wednesday morning at 11 and wait for 2 judges to come around and talk with Austin regarding his project "Vegetables or Fruits as Batteries? He did really well and was back to school by lunch time. That night we headed back to Lincoln Elementary for the Awards ceremony which he won and EXCELLENT award. Way to go to Austin.

It has been a good holiday weekend aside from the snow that we have gotten. I am thankful for my family and friends and all the gifts that you bring to my life.

Tim and Crista came to Utah for the Holiday and as busy as they were they were able to spend time with us and let us meet our newest family member. The kids grow so fast and with them so far away it is hard for the kids to be close but they all did really well playing with each and getting along with our noisy bunch. Thank you Tim and Crista for coming to visit, we wish that we could visit more often. Here are a few pictures of Weston and Adilyn. Fall pictures are in and they look great. This year the school went with Lifetouch who have more options then just the blue background. Megan's is missing because her came back on just the blue background so we will have her's in a couple of weeks.

Life has been busy. Megan is now in Girl Scout, Austin has Boy scouts and Nikolai will be starting a tumbling class today. Robert has been spending a lot of time working on re-doing a 1965 14' travel trailer. He bought it in the spring and totally gutted the inside and had to redo it so he can use it on the Hunt which he leaves for tomorrow.

Breanna's Birthday!

With Breanna's actual birthday on September 3 which is the start of a holiday weekend we decided to have her Party this Saturday. We had it at the park and prayed all week that the rain would stay away. It did but we had to brave the strong winds which made Breanna's eyes water. We had fun with family and friends.

She got lots of presents and really had no interest in open anything after the first one. But Megan and Nik sure could help fast enough. For all those that came and are reading this post I just want top THANK you all the gifts were great and sure loves them all. Once we were home she sat and played with the toys for quite awhile.
The cake was done by Brenda Chance from A Cake Affair! She creates fabulous cakes and I wanted to have a big cupcake cake for Breanna's big day. Brenda exceeded my expectations and everyone loved it. There was many oohs and aahhhhs as they were eating also. Breanna could get to her fast enough. Aunt Christie got to close and she got a handful of icing right away. We buckled her in her chair and she went for it. I love that my kids are not timid when it is time to make a mess.

I am still trying to decide when she became so spoiled. Her loot pile is a great combination of clothes and Toys.
THANKS again everyone for helping us celebrate her FIRST Birthday! I can't believe that it has almost been a year since she was born. It has been truly an amazing year and a fun adventure to experience with her and the rest of the family. Breanna has been a very good baby and has made it a fun year watching her experience her first in her own way. She may be a small baby but she is not afraid of anything. She is beginning to walk more and more and if we don't watch her she will climb up the stairs or anything that is in her way to get what she wants. She loves feeding herself and playing with Chase. (I will have to try to get a video to post of that it is the funniest thing). As long as mom is close she will sleep through the night (which she has done since she was less then 2 months).

I LOVE YOU BREANNA and I wish that you remain the happy child that you are and dream big Your life is full of wonderful potential. HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY!

Where has the Summer gone...

One week left of summer vacation and then it is back to school. The kids are all excited to meet their teachers Wednesday night at the SEP meeting. Then come August 23 they are back to school.

We have had a fun summer. We spent an amazing week with Becky and the kids, Robert took the kids camping a couple of times and who knows we may get out one more time to test the trailer that he has been fixing up before the elk hunt.

I am working on Breanna's First Birthday party. We are going to have it on Saturday August 28th at Valley Regional Park. Her Actual birthday is September 3rd but since a Holiday weekend we decided to do it early. The theme is CUPCAKE, so I have been searching for ideas and came across this recipe called "CUPCAKE POPS" from Bakerella. I made a test batch today and they are pretty simple and yummy.. Breanna and the kids really like them. You are actually suppose to put them on sucker stickers but for the test batch I decided to leave them like little bon bons.

The week of July 12 through the 18th my friend Becky and her kids came for a visit from New Mexico. We had a fun week doing things around the city.
Monday- the Zoo and a tour of the Sweet's Factory
Tuesday- The boys and Becky went on a hike in Pleasant Grove to a waterfall and then the kids played in the water in the backyard.
Wednesday- Went to Kennicot Coppermine, Made homemade Rootbeer and kids played in the water again
Thursday- The kids chilled watching TV
Friday- Hill Air Force Aerospace Museum, Burger BAr and Antelope Island.
Saturday Kids played in teh water.

So it has been a while since I posted again so it is time to play catch up.

Mother's Day... Breanna starts to crawl on Mother's Day weekend and we are in trouble now. Not just crawling now but pulling herself up to things and getting back down on her own.

Kindergarten Graduation...Megan and Nik did it...They finished Kindergarten. They are both very smart kids and even though they were challenging at times the teacher gave each of them a reward of something that she thought the did really well. Megan always includes everyone when she goes out to play and Nikolai is a natural leader. We are proud of them and excite for next year. Austin end the year with good grades A's and B's with 1 C. we are proud of as he brought up all but one of his grade from the previous semester. He is off to 6Th grade next year it is hard to believe that he will be in Jr. high in 2 years.

Memorial Day...
I ended up having to work on Monday May 31st so we didn't go anywhere for the entire weekend but we did go out by Utah Lake where we met up with Robert's brothers Brian an Paul that were camping and riding ATV and Dirt bikes. The kids had fun being able to ride with their Cousin Brock on the 4 wheeler. Breanna is going to be a little happy 4 wheeler. She loves the sounds of the 4 wheelers and she like riding them also.

Thanks to our friend Gina and June we have a one year Membership to Hogle Zoo so for Father's day weekend and the twins birthday we went to the zoo Saturday Morning.

The day may have started out cold but that won't stop a class full of 5 year olds who are excited to go on a field trip to the ZOO! By the time we got to the zoo it had warmed up just a little. It was a quick hour at the zoo but we managed to still see, the Tigers, Rhino, Elephant, Reptiles, Monkeys, Gorilla's, Camels, and Penguins. The group included, Megan, Nikolai and friends- Ayesha, Ashley and Caden.

Robert Birthday and Easter Weekend!

Robert's Birthday was on the 31 of March but we celebrated on April 3. We had family over for a dutchoven dinner. The house was full and the kids had fun. And then on Sunday Robert's sister Crystal and her 3 kids came over for Brunch and an Easter Egg Hunt. With 6 six looking for eggs The Easter Bunny had to hide the eggs in our yard and grandpa's yard. The kids had fun running around looking for their 16 eggs.

State Reports!

Austin completed his State project during March. His state was Alaska! It was fun researching things about Alaska with him. It was also nice that there was a Sportsman expo during the month that we were able to pick up tons of brochures on Alaska to help with the report. He had several projects he had to complete. A map, flag, filmstrip, travel brochure and menu.

5 months and 1 tooth...

Breanna is just a little over 5 months old and has cut her FIRST TOOTH!. Friday night she was trying to bite my nose and I didn't see or feel anything. Saturday morning I was feeling her gums and there a little sharp tooth just coming in. Where has the time gone? Somedays it seems like we just brought her home. She has been a delight and cheerful baby even with the teething. And tonight we looked at her gums and it looks like tooth number 2 will be breaking through this week also. She is also working on rolling from her back to her tummy she is almost there but not quite. She can however rotate 360 degrees with all the twisting and kicking.

I hate spending so much on the trendy hair flowers and bows. So this afternoon I picked up 2 flowers from Michael's and with ribbon that I have I spent the afternoon and evening making bows for the girls.

Winter Time..

Another month has gone and i still feel like it was the first of December. Where has the time gone. Breanna is 5 months in a couple of days and she is still so small (everyone keeps telling me). She weighs between 12-13 pound by now at the beginning of January she was 11 pounds. We have tried starting her on rice cereal and she is not ready. Every time I try she shut her mouth tight and won't let the spoon in or she just blows raspberries at me. She is still a very good baby and sleep most nights all the way through. She is fighting a cold right now so it has been a little rough. She is also a talker. Daycare tells that she just talks and giggles all day. She is full of smiles when I drop her off so I know she is ok and like the girls that are watching her.
The twins were glad to go back to school now if we can get them from getting cards pulled at school so they can participate in Green day parties day we are set. Megan is struggling with ready as she does blend the sounds together as she sounds out the words. Nik is going to be reading book in no time as he can blend the sounds together. We are in trouble.
Austin is now in Boy Scouts and enjoying that he is doing well in school.
Robert and I may look into adding on to house this year or fixing things to place the house for sale. Who knows it is still early and we are going to look into our option at this point. I am torn about moving as we are in a good location for commute time to both our jobs and dad is close by. Decisions are tough.

It doesn't seem possible that it has been 3 months since Breanna was born. I return to work tomorrow and as much as I am excited to return to work and have more adult conversations throughout the day. I am also sad. It has been fun watching Breanna grow each day and develop her personality. She is such a happy baby. Sleeping through the night since middle of October and she is alot like Austin in that she likes to stand rather than sit, she gets really excited and smiles at everything.

The past 3 month have been good the kids are adjusting well and I think it was good to be home to try to get a routine in place, it may all change now that i won't be home after school but we will see. The twins are excited each day after school to come home and do their homework all on Mondays so they can play. Right now they are working on a map learning project and the class is trying to find the Gingerbread boy that escaped from the Oven on Tuesday, today he was in Arizona (Megan says it as Arizonwa, it is cute). The first semester is over and all the kids did really well. Austin got A's and B's so we are excited for the great start to the year and on the 6th of this month he will be turning 11. Wow! The twins are good Nik is doing really well, he can count to 100, recognizes all 52 letters (upper and lower-case) and is doing well with sight words and letter sounds. Megan is also doing well, she is struggling a little more than Nik but is still achieving the goals that were set. She just need to learn to keep her hands to herself and not bother Nik in class.

Now as we are getting ready for the holidays and the end of the year. I want to take some time to thank all of my family and friends that have supported this year for their love. We love them all and miss those that are not close enough to visit. We wish you all a great holiday season and hope that all your dreams and wish come true with the coming year.

Fall is Here!

November already! WOW!!

Austin is doing well in school. He is currently getting A's and B's. He just finish his first project in 5th grade. He had to do a report and then participate in a wax museum. He was Babe Ruth!

Then we had Halloween. 3 kids in school and a baby at home. The kids parade at school was on Thursday and then they had no school on Friday. Since Halloween was on Saturday it was nice so that we could carve pumpkins on Friday since Robert was actually home the final weekend of the month. Gotta love the Hunting Season. And then trick or treating on Saturday.

And here are the Costumes! Austin was a mummy, Megan a Witch, Nikolai Superman and Breanna was a little Ghost.

Breanna is now 2 months old. She weighed in at 9lbs and 22 inches today. She is smiling, Trying to grab onto things and Growing. When we go out everyone still thinks she is so small, but she is growing.

I have recovered well from the C-section and have another 4 weeks off before I have to return to work on December 3rd. I am going to try to get christmas shopping done and re-arranging the bedrooms for the kids so that Megan and Breanna can have a room together.

It's already been a month!

I can't believe how fast the past month has gone by. Breanna is a really good baby and is on a 3 to 4 hour eating schedule which mean I really only get up once in the middle of the night once I go to bed. She thinks she is hot stuff trying to hold her head up on her own and look around.
Becky, Arianna and Myah came and stayed with us for a week to help with the kids and the house work. It was nice to have the extra help as we were getting adjusted to life with 4 kids. We spent the first week of Breanna being home going back and forth to the hospital for Jaundice blood draws. We had a light suitcase that she had to be in for a while but we got over that. Then she wasn't gaining weight. We left the hospital on 9/6 and she weighed 6 lb 2 ounces and at a week old she only weight 6 lbs 3 ounces, so I had to start supplementing her nursing and she soon decided that she wasn't going to nurse any longer so she is now on bottle and doing much better.

Meet the New Kid on the block!!

BREANNA ELIZABETH made her debute on Thursday, September 3 at 8:31pm. Weighing in at 6 lbs 14 ounces, 20 1/2 inches. She was born 2 weeks early since my blood pressure once again did not cooperate. I had gone in for my normal checkup and my pressure was up to 140/90 which the doctor didn't really like. So she sent me for a non stress test and the pressure came down a little and I went to work for the afternoon. At 4pm I got the call from the doctor's nurse saying that they wanted to do the c-section that night and when was the last time I ate? I was like at 12. Tthey said "ok, we will call you back and let you know what the doctors (anesthiaoligist say)". They call back at 5 and said "be here at 6 and we will take the baby at 8." I rushed home finished packing and said hello to the kids and then off we went to the hospital. True to their word they had me in the OR by 8PM and back in teh recoervy by 9:00pm(it was fast). The kids then came up and saw their new little sister and spent some time with her before they headed home to go to bed for school the next day.

With school set to begin in just a few short weeks.(Austin in 2 weeks and the twins in 3)I thought maybe I needed to update our Blog. I can't beleive the summer has gone by so fast. It seem like just yesterday that it was the last day of school. Where does the time go? We really haven't done a lot this summer with preparing for the new baby. The kids are excited to go to school (I think). We took them shopping for new clothes in which we put on layaway at Kmart and they were all very sad that we left the clothes at the store. It is not easy explaining to 5 year olds that mommy and daddy have to pay for the clothes before we can bring them home.

Once schools start that will mean it is time for another big event. The baby will be born the week of Labor Day. I really can't beleive that it has been 9 months already. I will be taking the full 12 weeks that is allowed off from work so it will be nice to be home for a little while with the kids as we get into a routine with school and the baby. Megan is hoping for a boy and the boys are hoping for a girl. It is kind of interesting. Robert and I are mixed and just want it to be a healthy baby. So far everything has been good. My blood pressure has been good so far but I know that may change as it has in the past with the last few weeks of each pregnancy. We are as ready as we are going to be.

This year Dad decided he was going to enter the Dutch oven competition at WestFest. Robert asked Austin if he want to participate also and Austin said "Sure". Then Robert talked to his brother Paul to see if he wanted to participate also. Dad decided he would make "Pigs in a Cornfield" and " Baked beans" (my favorite) and Paul is going to make "Wild Boar Chili" and Austin and Robert decide that Austin will make "German Pancakes". So for the past 4 weeks they have been working on the recipe for the competition "German pancakes with Strawberries and Cream". Breakfast on Sundays have been delicious since we usually make 4 or a 5 every Sunday. The competition was yesterday. They started at 3 in the afternoon and final presentation was at 7pm. Austin has made the recipe so many times that he was able to make 5 yesterday from memory. Austin set his final presentation on the table with a minute to spare. There was a total of 10 participates. (2 for the youth division, 2 for the one-pot division, 3 for the two-pot division and 3 for the three-pot division). Austin, Paul and Dad all took 1st Place in their division. They all had had a good time and are starting to gear up for the next year so that they can defend their titles and Robert is going to join in to the challenge Paul and Dad.

Megan and Nikolai turned 5 today. I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? They have had fun this weekend with a party on Saturday and then one Sunday. When I asked Megan what kind of cake she wanted this year she said "Pink Camo". She is the most unpredictable kid. Nikolai wanted Spiderman which is easy. So I did the best I could with both cake. they were so happy. Then they wanted a Pinata. Luckily it stopped raining long enough for them to go and hit it a few times before the hanger broke. Then the big kid used it as batting practice before Robert finally ripped it open and spread it around the yard.

I can't believe that summer is just around the corner! Schools is out in 2 weeks, the twins turn 5 in a month and the weather has finally warmed up. Where has the time gone. Someone reminded me that the year is almost half over...it seems like it was just January.

I finally broke down last month and got Megan's ears pierced. She had been begging us for month to get her ears pierced. I finally had a week moment when we went to the mall to meet a friend. She was such a big girl. She got right up in the chair and held still and didn't flinch when the pierce both ears at the same time (then again she like shots). She has been really good at reminding me each day to clean her ears and if I don't clean them on her time schedule she will go ahead and do them herself. She is a little to independent at times.

The boys are good. They both keeps on our toes, they are always on the go and do not like to stop or be told no.

17 weeks left until baby #4 arrives and the twins will start kindergarten (WOW!!!).

We will officially be half way through the pregnancy this week. We had the ultra sound last week. We took the kids so they could see the baby in mom's tummy. They seem to be excited for a few minutes. We didn't find out since we have decided not but we wouldn't have been able even if we wanted to as the baby has his legs crossed. So it couldn't be a stubborn little born or a shy little girl. We will all find out in September.

As a reward for getting a B average for the 2nd semester Austin got to go on a pig hunt with his dad at the beginning of April. He had a lot of fun hunting the pig but wasn't to sure about touching it for pictures afterwards. Robert was so excited to finally go hunting with one of his boys. Now he can't wait for Megan to be old enough to get her started. We can just see it now..High heals and Pick Camo Dress and gun. Robert also shot a pig so between the 2 pigs we have over 300lbs of pork down in the freezer.

We have finally had our first prenatal appointment and the Dr and the ultrasound confirmed that we will only be having 1 baby. Our due date is September 16, 2009. Since we will be having a c-section I am going to try to get it scheduled for the week before on September 9Th (9-9-09). We have decided not to find out what we are having so we will all have to wait and be surprised in September.

This was a total surprise to us this last weekend. I casually mentioned to Robert Thursday night that I was late so he bought a PG test on Friday and to our surprise it was positive. We thought we were done and excited that the twins will be starting kindergarten this fall. Now we will be starting over. Any handy me downs will be appreciated since we have been giving everything away since we thought we were done.
We are not planning to tell the kids until after my first appointment at the end of February. So please help us keep this quiet.

I can't believe that 2008 is over and we are beginning 2009. Where did the time go? Christmas was good this Robert and I tried to stay to a strict budget and for the most part we succeeded. The kids had fun. Santa brought all the right toys...Austin..K'nex Marble roller coaster, Basketball, Soccer ball and a football. Baggage guys and travel mat, Megan...A real baby the cries, suck a bottle and sleeps, Baby playpen, baby clothes and Cinderella for the bathtub, Nikolai...Tinker Toys, remote control Dinosaur, A four wheel and transformers. Austin has enjoyed being off from school for the past couple of weeks. Robert has taken the kids out shooting a couple of times and spent time playing games with them while I have worked.

We are looking for to this year. We are going to try to get out of some debt so we can remodel the kitchen. This is something we have thought about since we bought the house and since it looks like we are going to be here a little while longer we might as well make some changes that we like. The twins will start school in the fall which will be nice. Austin is going to get the opportunity to go skiing this month with the school and the Ski Utah program. He is excited so we will keep you posted on how he likes it. I am going to try to take some more time off since I seem to accrue more than I take. Robert is looking forward to going Pig hunting in the Spring with Austin. We are hoping to get out camping more this year since we only went out twice last year.

So the daycare had a christmas program today. Our kids are one in a million. Megan walked on stage waived hi and then wanted a hug from Mom. I couldn't get up there and so she broke out in tears and was done. Nik performed 1 song and stood there for another then he was done. I was able to get a couple of pictures so here they are. I can't believe that it is almost Christmas. It seem like we just had Thanksgiving.

We celebrated Austin's 10Th Birthday a couple of weeks ago. He had his first friend party here at the house. They played Halo, ate pizza for lunch and then had cake and presents. He had so much fun even though only a few of his friends came. After his friend party we had the family party that night after we took him out to dinner. Most the family came over and he was so excited to have gotten a skateboard and Bagugon guys.

This past weekend we got together with all of Robert's brothers and sister and their family to celebrate the holidays, his dad was suppose to be there but called and said he was sick and wouldn't be able to join us. This was the first time that all the kids and their families have been together. It was a nice afternoon and all the kids (9 and 2 babies) played together and had a lot of fun playing guitar hero and rock bank on the X-box 360, plus Brian has a pool table and a couple of arcade games that the kids were able to play, which was nice because it kept them entertained so the adults could actually visit. It brought back alot of memories from growing up and how we would get together as a family and the kids would take over grandma's TV room and watch movies or MTV while the parents sat in the living room visiting.

I haven't sent out Christmas cards this year so I want to take a minute and wish all of you a wonderful and safe Holiday.

We survived the Thanksgiving holiday. It was a quiet day in our house. I cooked dinner and then we went over to some friends house for dessert. I had to work this last weekend because it was month end but I now have 5 days off. I will be preparing for Austin's 10Th Birthday and Christmas Shopping.

So it finally happen I received my first ticket ever...We were down in Spanish fork this weekend and I was pulled over for the plates being expired. the cop came to the window I was frantically searching for my driver's license which I thought I didn't have with but luckily I found it. I got the ticket for the expired plates and a warning for not having a valid insurance card in the van. Robert told me that I would get a ticket and he was right. I can't really complain since the cop could have given me a speeding ticket also because I was also going 10 over the speed limit but he was nice and didn't.

Halloween was fun for the kids. I had to work until about 10 that night so Robert go to enjoy the Trick or Treating with the kids for the first time in about 3 years. Austin was a Wrestler, Megan was Cinderella and Nikolai a pick crew member from the movie Cars. It is amazing how much the kids got from walking around the block once.

As we go into the month of November I am thinking how thankful I am for my Family and friends. The kids and Robert gives me great joy each day. I am amazed of how much they change each day and the fun little things that they do. I am blessed to have them in my life.

So I took the kids to Murray Park tonight to do the Haunted trail that the Murray Park puts on every year. For a 1.50 you get a little fright and then a donut and hot coco. The kids were not impressed with the trail one bit. Nik scream and held on to me for dear life, Austin did not like it one bit and Megan made it through it but she was not impressed either. I don't think I have to worry about going next year.

Robert spent the month hunting every weekend for nothing but he had fun. I can not believe that October is almost over where does all the time go.

I can't believe it is almost October. Where has the time gone? School has been full swing for a month now. Austin is doing well, he enjoys his teacher and friends. He is completing his assignments this year and doing really well.
We went camping with Robert's dad, brother Paul and Marcus and there families and then his sister with the kids a couple of weeks ago. Everyone enjoyed the time away and with the fall leaving changing it was fun to see the mountain in full color. Megan went on her first hunting outing with dad (Mom is in trouble) she had fun and I think she is addicted. I am trying to get her to realize that if the boys are gone we can go shopping but it is not working to well.
The twin are growing and getting so big I can't believe that they are 4. They can recite there ABC and count up to 20 and they walk around the house all day sing any number of songs that they have learned from Daycare.
Work for me is good. My company is in a stable position with all the mortgage may ham that has been going on. We are not an origination shop we just service sub-prime loans which at this point is a benefit. We are going to be adding approximately 33,000 to our portfolio as of Oct 1. So that means lots of work for me.

Robert's first PIG hunt....

Robert went on his first pig hunt on Friday. There is a place up near Brigham city that you can plan a hunt and pay the fee and then go look for a pig, goat or mountain sheep. It is guaranteed so if you don't shoot anything you get your money back. This year Robert went for the pig. Three of his brothers and his dad all went. They started hunting around 9:30 and by noon all four of them had shot there pigs. He is so excited to go again and take Austin. His pig weight about 375 lbs. That means a lot of ham, bacon and sausage for us in a couple of weeks.

Summer Days....

It has been a pretty quiet summer since we came back from vacation. Austin spent a couple days at cub scout camp. He really enjoyed it. He has been back at the Taylorsville Rec center in the mornings. He has enjoyed this as he is able to meet new friends, rock climb the rock wall, go swimming, and play many different sports. When school starts he will start going to the day care with the twins for an hour and then he will go to school.

Becky and her family left yesterday afternoon. They have been here for 2 weeks packing up her mom and dad's house after 23 years. They actually were able to get the house sold before they left which is a relief off there backs. I can not imaging having to pack Dad's house... They ended up getting 2 penske truck in order to get everything down to New Mexico. We had fun while they were here. Becky and I were able to go to a movie last weekend with Gina to dinner and a movie (Mamma Mia) it was fun. Robert had taken the boys camping so I just had Becky's sister and mom watched Megan.

Robert was playing on the computer the other day and downloaded something that he shouldn't have so the computer isn't really working. so he said we would go by an new laptop. So Friday night we did. Considering the computer was 5 years old it is nice to get a new one with a little more speed.

Robert is going Pig Hunting in 2 weeks and school starts in 3 weeks. Where has the SUMMER gone....

So Megan has decided yet again that she need another haircut. Sunday morning I woke up to Nik saying Megan had cut her hair. She found a pair of scissor and hid in the dog kennel and cut her hair.

Home Again...

We are home again. It was a 10 hour drive to come home but we made it by 9:30pm Saturday night. The kids are glad to be home but also sad that they had to leave all the kids at the Stagg house. With our 2 families and Drew's niece there was 13 all together (5 adults and 8 kids under the age of 10). We had alot of fun. We went to the Rio Grande Zoo, The Aquarium, we went and saw the new Disney movie WALL...E. Becky and I were also able to kid away for an afternoon to have a GIRL'S DAY- we went shopping and got Pedicure. The 4 adults were also able to enjoy a date night in which we rode the Sandia Tram which took us up to an elevation of over 10,000 feet, the views were spectacular and then we went to dinner and then back to the movies to see Hancock. On our last day there we went and spent some time in the Jemez mountains roasting hotdogs and letting the kids shoot the BB gun and .22 rifle. We tried on 2 occasions to go swimming however 1st day the pool was cleared out within the first 5 minutes of us getting in due to the threat of thunderstorms. Once they clear the pool for rain they have to wait 1 hour before letting anyone in. We got a rain check and planned on going back however when we went back the pool it was closed due to low water clarity (the water looked Green), so then we tried to go to another pool but as we where going in Austin's toe had an argument with the door and the toe LOST!. Austin lost the entire big toenail (picture below), so we had to run him to the urgent care to make sure everything was ok and get some antibiotics. All the kids enjoyed spending time together and we all had a fun time together. Becky and the kids will be here the first part of Austin to pack up her parents house (they are finally moving down to New Mexico)

We Made it!!

Well we made it to Rio Rancho, NM in about 12 hour with stops sometimes every 20 minutes. We spent the Fourth of July relaxing, Kids playing in the water and Robert slept most of the day. Drew had bought the biggest box of fireworks so it was about an hour and half of fireworks. Saturday we went to the zoo and I forgot my camera. We are going to see WALL..E tomorrow with the kids and then we may go to the Aquarium. I hopefully will not forget my camera this time. We have a week of activities planned but we will see how things go. We will be heading home on Saturday so that we can have a day to relax before going back to work.

On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road......... We are leaving today to drive to Albuquerque, New Mexico. 4 kids, (we are taking Becky's oldest son Wyatt home with us. He was spending some time with grandma and grandpa.) 1 dog and 2 tired adults should make a fun trip. We are all excited to be able to get a way and spend time with friends. It is going to be about a 10 hour trip depending on how many stops we have to take for the kids and dog. We will be gone until the 12th. Hopefully we can escape some of the heat. The weather is suppose to be in the triple digits.

4 YEAR'S HAVE FLOWN BY...

I can't hardly believe it has been 4 years since we welcomed Megan and Nikolai to our family. It seems like just yesterday we were bringing them home and getting settled into a new routine with 2 little babies. They have brought such joy to our lives and as they have gotten older pure entertainment.

We spent the day celebrating by taking them to The Pizza Factory for lunch and then we went to Fat Catz for some bowling. we got theough one game and decide that was enough so we will be going back this summer for round 2. The kids always have fun when they get to go bowling and it is so much fun to watch how excited they get when they knock the pins down.

Megan keeps telling us she is going to be a doctor when she grows up so we got her a doctor kit, to get her started down the path of her dreams. Nikolai has started bringing bugs to me so we got him a bug catcher box so hopefully the bugs make it in the box and not in my house.

Dad is out of town this weekend (camping in Colorado) so we will do the cake and ice-cream thing with every one when he is back. Megan keeps saying she want a Cinderella Cake and Nikolai wants a Darth Vader Cake..So hopefully I can full fill the additional wishes.

Summer has started and Austin has just finished his first week at Fun Fit and Sun program at the Rec center. He goes everyday from 8am to 12pm and then Robert picks him up and the twins to come home and take a nap. they do various activities and Crafts and Friday is swim day. He seem to be enjoying it. He goes again next week and the on July 3rd we head to New Mexico for 10 days. We are all excited to be able to get away and to go play with our friends.

At the beginning of June I took over the Supervisor position for the department I left bag in March of 2007. It has been extremely challenging, I went from being a supervisor of 2 to of supervisor of 8. How do you keep track of everyone? It has been good to go back to some that I have enjoyed doing. I have someone calling me at least everyday saying how glad they are to have back on the team, now they have a issue that they need my help with. (They are all just buttering me up so that I will help them.)

Memorial Day!

Our first camping trip of the season was cancelled Memorial day weekend. In February we had reserved a spot up Big Cottonwood Canyon at the Spruces with friends (Randal and his Family and Gina and June) so that we could spend Memorial day weekend camping. However due to the hard winter that we had the entire campground was still under 3 to 4 feet of snow plus it had snowed the week prior, so camping was not going to happen. The kids were bummed they were really looking forward to going camping. At the last minute we decided to drive to Logan and stay the night in a hotel and let the kids do some swimming (a mini vacation). On Sunday our friends (Randall and Stephanie Brady) and us headed to Logan. The kids were all excited and couldn't wait to get there. We reserved rooms at the Super 8 just at the edge of town. Once we got there all they want to do was go swimming. So before we went to dinner we head off to the pool. The twins were not sure what to think, this was the first time they had ever been in a pool. Nik quickly adjusted and had fun learning how to swim with daddy. Megan just wanted mommy but she didn't to learn to much as she had a death hold on my neck 80% of the time. Austin had fun splashing around and playing with our friends kids (Destiny and Ethan). We let the kids swim for an hour and decide it was time for dinner. After Dinner all they want to do was go back to the hotel and go swimming again. Here are some picture of the swimming.

On our way home Monday we decided to stop at Hill Air Force Air Museum. The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the air planes. This was the first time that I had been at the museum. It was cool to walk around and see all the planes and realize how far the technology has come over the years.

Austin participated in his first Pinewood Derby Tuesday night. He did really well and place 6Th over all out of 17 boys.

This is a video of Austin's 1 race of the night. Austin's car is the first car you see. He came in second on this race with 2.833 seconds.

Here is the final scores listed. Austin is listed as car number 8- 2.833, 2.801,2.899 and 2.817 with and average of 2.82. As you notice car 9 was a friend of Austin and his average was 2.69 for the 4 races.

Austin and his dad had alot of fun building the car together. I never knew how much work the boys put in to the cars. The shaping, sanding and painting and making sure the weight is under 5 ounce. Who knew it took so much work.

Accidents Happen!

Yesterday afternoon Nikolai had his first accident that required a trip to Insta Care (we suspect he will be there often). He was standing by the door that leads to the garage and Robert opened the door just right and split his forehead open. He cried for a few minutes while we were trying to clean up the blood and assess if he needed to go to the doctor's for some stitches. He did! So we took him up to Insta Care (our pediatrician office told us to take him to PMC but we felt that he didn't need to go there since the bleeding had already stopped). He was so brave and good to let the nurse look at the cut and then put some numbing gel on the surface just in case he was going to get stitches it would have made the process alot easier. When the they called his name 20 minutes later to go back and have his vital checked he was awesome, he knew how the finger monitor worked (because of dad's portable one) he stood on the scale (34 lbs) and they took his temperature. And then the nurse had to clean the area with a syringe of water so that we make sure it was good and clean to prevent an infection. The doctor looked at it and said we could use the Durabond glue so we would not have to have the stitches..Yippee! He laid so still and let the doctor glue the edge together and off we went. He then spent the rest of the afternoon running an playing and squirting everyone with the syringe that they gave.

So a couple of weeks ago I get a call from the daycare. The director is calling shortly after I get to work she leaves a message on my voice mail assuring that the kid are fine but to call them. So I call the day care. The director tells me that there has been an incident with Megan and scissors. Megan has had her haircut by another child in her class. I am laughing at this point because leave it to our kids to cause issues. I asked where the hair has been cut and she said in the back. I was like that is good at least it is not her bangs. When I go home that night and looked at her hair there is a chunk of hair missing in the back. But since I am late coming home (I had an Access Class) I came home and she has taken a Red Crayola Marker and colored her lips, finger nail and toenails. She just want to be a pretty little girl. I asked her what happened to her hair and she said "Aubrey Cut it!". Why did Aubrey cut it? "Because I asked her too." replied Megan.

I could cover the cut job by pulling her hair in a pony tail, but those of us the know Megan knows she does not leave pony tails in for too long so we had to have her hair cut. I now is cut to just above her shoulders and has some layers it the back to cover so the the unevenness that is still visible.

So it has been a couple of years since our last family pictures. The twins had pictures done this week at school and so I arranged to have ours done this weekend and it worked out perfectly since Tim and Crista are in town. With Tim and Crista getting ready to head to Delaware I thought it would be good to get a family picture before they moved to the East Coast and we don't get to see them as much. The kids are growing so fast I can believe the twins are getting ready to turn 4 and Addy is almost one and Austin is getting taller trying to catch up to Marrissa. Then there is Marissa who is turning 12 in August but looks like she is older.

The Spring is here and everyone is getting antsy and want the warm weather here so we can get and go camping and four wheeling. I have started selling my cards and scrapbook page layout at the quilted bear with a friend. In the first month I have sold almost all the items that I had put in the booth and it has been neat and exciting. Here is a picture of some of the cards I had done.

Megan and the Cell Phone....

Megan has always had such a fascination with cell phones. I don't know how many times we've caught her with our cell phone in her pocket or in her room calling Becky. If Becky gets to many calls from her, she generally call us on our house phone saying that Megan has the phone some where. She has taken the phone to school a couple of times. Well Thursday she took it to school again, the teacher got it away from her and put it up. When Robert picked up the kids and brought them home, he went looking for the phone and couldn't find it. He asked Megan "Where is the cell phone" and she told him "at school". When we called the school to verify this they said yes they hadn't taken it from her but now they couldn't find it. They still hadn't been able to locate it by Friday night so we bought a new phone (I was actually already thinking of doing that any way).

Megan is such a girl and when you ask her why she took the phone to school she just says "I wanted too." As she gets older I can see that she is going to keep up on our toes about everything. Boys, Phones, Make-up and clothes, she is the miniature version of me to a point. She acts like she is the boss now and she is only 3 1/2.

Nikolai is also going to keep up on our toes just because he is so active. He goes non-stop and we can never seem to get him to go to sleep unless we strap him in the car and then he is out within minutes. It is like he know if he stop for 2 seconds he would go to sleep and he just doesn't want to miss anything.

Austin has completed another term at school he got a B in Math (we are so Excited) and then C's in English and Language Arts. He has a hard time concentrate on those subject so we are still working with him. He is also going to scouts every Tuesday night with is fun for him and me.

Robert and I are celebrating our 12Th anniversary today. I can't believe that it has been 12 years. We are going to go out without the kids tonight for dinner. He is the one that has arranged things so I am not sure what else we will be doing.

I can't beleive it is already February! Wow. The time just seems to go by and I can beleive it. The kids are all growing so fast. Nikolai is going in for his second set of Tubes in his ears this week. That should be fun for us. Megan is becoming a little Debbie (as Christie says). Friday she took the Cell Phone to school in her pocket. (I had no idea she had it) when I asked her why she said, "Because I needed it!" and the other day she was over at grandpa's and was aked to go tell grandpa dinner is ready and he said "I will be up in a minute" and she said, "No, you come to dinner now!" They have such personalities and attitudes.

I spent a couple days in 3rd grade with Austin to see how his days are during the rotation through 3 Teachers. (Yes, the have 3 teacher is 3 grade.) It was a real eye opening experience. The challenges that the teachers face today are far more difficult then I remember. We are currently working to get him some extra help with reading and such to ensure he has a successful education. Nothing is more frustrating then having to argue and fight with him to complete his homework for 2 hours a night and that is just to complete a simple worksheet not even working a report.

He has transferred Scout troops and is now part of the Stake Pack which included a few kids from school so it should be fun. He has been excited each time I have picked him up after den meeting. Scout-O rama tickets will be going on sell soon so if you are interested let us know. I beleive they go on sell in March.

We hope your holidays were just as fun as ours. Tim, Crista and Adilyn made the long trip from Altius AFB, in OK to spend time with the family for the holidays. It is always great to be able to spend time with them. Addy is growing so fast. My best friend Becky and her family came for a visit. It was a last minute surprise and they were able to spend 2 weeks.

Christmas was good. Santa Clause was very good to the kids and they all enjoyed the day. Megan got her wish and receive a Kitchen Set for Christmas, Nikolai got a dump truck and cars and Austin got a high powered telescope to look at the stars, a digital camera and an MP3 player that we still can get it to work.

Becky and I enjoyed facials for the first time on the 2nd and now our husbands are in some trouble as that is something that everyone should experience at least once a month. The good news is that Becky and Drew may be moving closer to home this Fall. If things work out and plans do not change Drew will try to get into BYU-Idaho in rexburg, ID in order to finish his degree. It would be so nice to have them closer.

We took the kids sledding for the first time and they had a blast. We went to the Community College and they were able to have a fun time here are some pictures of the twins coming down the little hill. They were also able to drag the sled bag up after them.

As we begin the new year we have decided that it was time Megan needed her own room. So last weekend we move Austin and Nikolai into 1 room and gave Megan her own room. they like the fact that they have new rooms and the twins are now in Twin beds but yet they are still preferring to all sleep in the same room. I guess maybe is was still to soon but as long as they all go to sleep I have no problem with them all sleeping in the same room.

We'd like to introduce you to Chase. He is our new puppy. He is a Shih-tzu/maltese mix, 2 month old and still try to figure out what happened to his mom and dad. The kids are so in love with him they will not leave him alone for 2 minutes. We have been thinking of getting a puppy for quite some time and I have see him on KSL.Com for a few days so we finally called and went and looked at him.

Ok here goes nothing. In response to Crista's Challenge.

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
Robert and I were living in an apartment saying we truly needed to find a home as we really didn't want to have to pay taxes since we had no exemption at the time. In April of 1998 we moved into our first home and found out we were expecting Austin at the end of 1998. I was working at Crossland Mortgage as a Payoff Specialist and also had a second job at 3 Day blinds Selling Blinds.
2. What were you doing five years ago?
2002??? I was just finishing my first year working at Fairbanks Capital (now known as Select Portfolio Servicing) as a cashier specializing in Research and correction of missing mortgage payments. Robert was finally recovering from a hunting accident (he had fallen out of the back of a pick up truck in August of 2001 and broke his leg which required surgery to try to fix it and then he end up with a total knee replacement in april of 2002) that resulted in a year off of work. Austin was potty training and growing like a weed.
3. What were you doing a year ago.
Sitting at home hoping everyone that was in Hawaii was enjoying the sun and Christie and Bretts Wedding and that they survive the earthquake. Working at Select Portfolio crazy amount of hours and getting ready to take on the roll as team lead for cashiering.
4. What were you doing yesterday?
Work, Dinner, Homework kids to bed and a little time to scrap book.
5. 5 locations you would run off too.
Alaska, New Mexico- Gotta see Becky and her family, Any Where Tim, Crista and Addy are, Branson, MO or nashville, TN any place warm and not too Humid.
6. 5 Bad habits
Drinking to much Pepsi, watching too much TV, spending money, not enough patience, Buying and entire small glaus cake (chocalate rum or Mint) and eating the entire thing

Scrap booking, reading romance novel,baking, Shopping and Riding 4 Wheelers (SHH..Don't tell Robert it gives him the excuse to buy another 4 wheeler)

GIDDY UP PONY.....

So the twins have completed their first month at daycare and they are loving it. The daycare had a pony come and they gave the kid rides and then dressed them up like little cowgirl's and cowboy's and took the picture. The kid had a lot of fun and enjoy the pony. As Christie said there is no mistaken that the kids are Dennis'.

Megan is almost fully potty trained so she has moved up to the 3 year old class at school. Nikolai is still not showing with a lot of interest so he is still in the 2 year old class but we are still working with him, since Megan is not happy that her brother is not in class with her.

Austin has began the cub scout and is currently working to earn his wold by the end of the year so that he can start working on the bear. I finally had to sign him up with a group that meets ever Wednesday night over at the Lutheran church across from the Taylorsville rec center. Our ward seems to not have enough boys to have a cub scout troop. He is excited.

Megan and Nik Visit the Dentist

Friday, Megan and Nikolai had there first dentist appointment. Megan cooperated and did everything with no problem, X-rays, teeth cleaning, fluoride treatment and even let the dentist count all 20 of her teeth. She was perfect and came out with a clean bill of health NO CAVITIES. Nik on the other had was going to play at all so we were lucky that the dentist got a quick look with out traumatizing him to bad.

School has start. Austin is now in the 3rd grade making new friends which is always fun. Megan and Nikolai started daycare at the beginning of the month and they love going each day to play with their new friends. Robert's mom is serving a in-service mission at the Genealogy Library. She gave a talk on Sunday and asked us to attend so here are picture of the kids ready to go to church. They were very good during the meeting which really shocked me since they have not gone to many place in which they needed to sit and be reverant. Megan and Nik were so cute they sat on the church bench with their arms folded and they "read" the hymn books.

On Saturday August 4th my company summer party was held at triple D Ranch in Herriman. they had a lot of fun activities for the kids. Pony rides, petting zoo, jump arounds and hay rides. It was a fun afternoon for all.

Dennis Family Connection

So, since the live space is to difficult for people to view I have decided to set up a blog. Hopefully this works and keeps every up to speed on the happening in the Dennis and Curtis families.

Summer is almost over and it has been extremely hot here in Utah. The kids are growing like weeds.

Marissa is going to be 11 in August and starting the 6th grade. She will be doing safety patrol this year. I can't believe it. She has enjoyed several camps this summer with Girl Scout and her Dad.

Austin is 8. He will be entering into the 3 rd grade. he has also enjoyed camping this summer with the family. He like riding his bike and playing with his friends. He is also looking forward to the opportunity to take hunter safety this year so he can do the small game hunts with his dad (laws changed).

The twins turned 3 last month and keep us very busy. What Megan doesn't think of Nikolai does. Megan is going to be a tom boy and princess all in one. She already talks about going hunting and shopping. Nikolai is all boy. He is rough, tough and trouble. he has not fear about things and will give anyone the run for there money.

Little Addy is a few month. She looks alot like her dad at time but also has her unique personality and looks. she has been visiting with her mom for a few weeks so it has been fun to see her and interact as we will not see her much once she goes home.

All of us parent are doing good, Dad is adding on tot he deck at his house. OK, so Brett is actually doing the work.
